Brandeis-Harvard Center on Substance Abuse Treatment and Managed Care
Funder(s): National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
This Center is focused on three general areas:
- assessing the role of employee assistance functions as part of carve-out arrangements for mental health and substance abuse care;
- evaluation of an innovative incentive contracting arrangement implemented by the State of Connecticut in its substance abuse treatment system;
- an assessment of the impact of key design features of income-support programs on people with substance abuse problems.
The HCP faculty on this project are most focused on the research concerning the design of income-support programs. In that work, we are examining the links between welfare-to-work programs, treatment for substance abuse, and the work, substance use, and poverty outcomes for people with substance abuse problems.
This Center grant links directly to Social Programs, Employment, and Addiction.
