HCP’s Joseph Newhouse, PhD, was presented with the Excellence in Mentoring Award given by the Harvard Graduate Student Council on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. The award was established in 1998-1999 to honor faculty who greatly extend themselves for their graduate students. The recipients must be supportive, encouraging and promote their graduate students' research, education, professional and personal development, and career plans. Dr. Newhouse received the honor after being nominated with a record number of nomination letters, and many of his students were present to congratulate him at his award dinner.
