HCP Head Barbara J. McNeil, MD, PhD, was honored as one of the “visionaries” who were the founding members of the original Association for Health Services Research (AHSR) Board of Directors during the recent celebration of the 25th anniversary of AcademyHealth. In acknowledging the contributions of McNeil and the 14 other founders, AcademyHealth noted, “These leaders had the commitment and vision to create the first health services research organization and organize what has become the premier forum for health services research.” Among the other individuals so honored, three—Stuart Altman, Robert Brook, and Larry Lewin—have worked with HCP directly or through their research groups.
