HCP’s Richard G. Frank, PhD, the Margaret T. Morris Professor of Health Economics, recently testified before the United States Senate Committee on Finance in his capacity as vice chair of the Citizens’ Health Care Working Group. The group was established by Congress to inform the national debate on health care, and over 18 months conducted conversations with thousands of individuals in communities across the United States. The group ultimately developed a series of six recommendations designed to promote a public policy in which all Americans have affordable health care.

Dr. Frank also testified in January 2007 about his observations of drug prices under the Medicare Part D drug benefit. In that appearance, again before the Senate Finance Committee, he was not representing the Citizens’ Health Care Working Group.
