Barbara J. McNeil, MD, PhD, the Ridley Watts Professor of Health Care Policy and founding head of HCP, has been named acting dean of Harvard Medical School by Harvard University's president-elect, Drew G. Faust.

In her announcement, Dr. Faust remarked, "Under Barbara's outstanding stewardship, the department of health care policy has become a national leader in health services research and in the scholarly areas on the boundary between clinical medicine and behavioral science."
